The health insurance industry is constantly changing and for 2024 the rates have remained stable, however, there are fewer options and most will have higher out of pocket costs. We recommend plans that have office visits covered before deductible so at least some coverage is available right away.
The carrier we suggest is Blue Cross which has the larger provider networks. To view plans, receive rates and to apply, click on the links below. Dental and vision coverage can also be obtained through each of these carriers. Federal government subsidies to help pay the premium are available only with Blue Cross.
For affordability, there are Short Term medical plans available at a much lower cost that will offer very good coverage. The downside to Short Term plans is that they are only good for three months and require medical questions to be answered. If an individual checks “yes” to any of them, the application will be declined. Once in a Short Term plan, if a serious medical condition arises, a new Short Term plan will be denied at renewal and the only new plan available would be a traditional plan effective January 1st of the following year.
